The Apple iPhone. I really don't give a damn.

WHat kind of twit waits in line for days on end for a stupid phone?  I am sorry but I Really don't care about ANY new Apple offering because there are usually better products on the market. They just don't pay for the hype and artificially create demand by limiting production (much like Sony does.)

I refuse to pay $500 or $600 for the stupid phone.  Whats more, I will laugh at any idiot that pays more than the retail price for one of these phones on Ebay.

Guess what folks - Apple is just like any other name brand.  ITs not any better, people just follow it to say that they have the latest gizmo.  UGH!

PS...This goes out to any Apple fan that is offended.  TOUGH!  I really could care less. Apple is NOT any better unless you are working for a graphic design house.  Your Appple computers don't get viruses not because they are any better, but because hackers design viruses to acieve maximum impact - more people have PCs so viruses get designed for PCs.  Comparing PCs and Macs ability to get a virus is sort of like comparing terrorist attacks in IRaq to those in Antarctica.

Yeah, Apple sucks. I'm a PC guy through and through. I like being able to buy components in a store rather than send away for them. I also like being able to buy video games for my computer. Sweetness.

The iPhone looks ridiculous. What's the point?

Apple does do some things right - their OS and various user interface aspects are very nice and focus on functionality, rather than features (a fact MS is slowly learning and has done a decent job of adopting in Windows Vista). I would have no qualms about recommending an apple computer to a first-time computer user (and have), while I'd be reticent to give that same new user a Dell PC unless I'm willing to answer countless hours of questions on why I can't open my pictures in Internet Explorer.

With that said, I think the majority of computer users WANT to be able to monkey with their PCs (or know someone that can) and don't like the closed hardware of the Apple electronics. Apple makes money off their hardware, with the software being the bait that gets the buyers there - the iPhone is no different. I've heard the parts cost on the order of $200 for the iPhone components, so Apple has ~$100-200 per phone profit (after you take out manufacturing and other various expenses).
