UGH! Homosexuality does NOT equal sexual deviancy!!!

I'm pretty sure this is a brilliant post, but I can't see about 2/3 of the text. It appears to be white. (?)

LOL, I am not sure whats going on....

I see it all. Maybe you need to come back later to read my genius thoughts. Then they will be even better!

Firstly:
It's not lunacy we put out, it's bombast. Totally sane.
Secondly:
The line between deviant and disordered is a thin one, but there is a line. Homosexual people are not classified as deviant by the Catholic Church, the body I claim to represent sometimes, but their inclinations are always classified as disordered (in the sense that sexual congress should be ordered to the ability to produce children in the natural way as part of a marriage). It is much the same as when I have an inclination for pre-marital sexual intercourse...disordered because it is not in the context of marriage.

People sometimes take their disapproval of such actions to extremes in language and even violence. This is never authentically Christian, but neither is blanket tolerance for such acts.
Most religions do see homosexuality as a bane or a deviant act..basically stating it as unnatural. However, that does not excuse them from using extreme language nor action in making their point heard. And blanket tolerance is Christian, is it not, under the Golden Rule?

As for sexual deviants, I'd classify that as sexual predators. Rapists, pedophiles, etc...
Aput,
Blanket tolerance would mean that Christians never spoke about sin and its consequences. The Golden Rule is a nice little platitude that helps people get along, but when you are dealing with theology you have to nuance those platitudes. Sin is primarily an assault on one's relationship with God, not with his fellow man. Rules are different for human-divine relations.
"Sin is primarily an assault on one's relationship with God, not with his fellow man."

If a sin is an assault upon the relationship of a person with God, then why not let the person deal with it himself instead of having others give their own measure of justice in the form of hateful acts and words?

hateful acts and words?

These have no place in charitable correction.
A person will ultimately deal with sin, make the choice to address it and go through the proper channels to have it taken care of. But the Church is a community of believers that is on Earth to support those striving to please God. It's an excellent resource and an excellent support system, if its principles are applied correctly.

We see the damage morons can inflict with harsh social punishments for sinful behavior...look at all the animosity I encounter when I start all my Catholic-talk. That's because somebody who had a chance to be a good Christian messed up.

deviant - One that differs from a norm, especially a person whose behavior and attitudes differ from accepted social standards. [American Heritage Dictionary]

Based on that definition, homosexuality could be considered "deviant," but so could a great, great number of things. I say, be proud to be deviant, and move on. America was founded by people who deviated from the norm, and so we continue our proud tradition of deviance.

Scio: sexual congress should be ordered to the ability to produce children in the natural way as part of a marriage. Then I suppose a woman who is medically unable to have children should never have sex again. What a pity.

the Catholic Church, the body I claim to represent sometimes. Does the Pope know this?
